Welcome to my personal website and thank you for visiting. I hope that you find what you are looking for, but if it is salvation you are seeking, you may have come to the wrong place.

This site is a bit of a mix. I have created it as a one stop shop, as much for my own use as for others. I have created static pages related to my job, including pages about my research, my publications and the software that I have created. The intention is to replace the old site, which was written in 2001, with something at least a little more current, while still retaining the information that was there originally.

Beyond the static pages, I also wanted to create something a little more dynamic than the previous site. As is the current fashion, I have opted to use blogging to achieve this aim. Let’s face it, I am not breaking new ground here, but it seems to me that a blog offers a nice way to disseminate my thoughts and ideas, to an audience who will read them (or not) entirely voluntarily. Whether I have anything interesting to say is another matter, and I guess you, the reader, will be the judge of that. If you feel the desire to comment on my blog posts then I would be extremely privileged if you did so. To avoid spam, I have set up comment moderation until your e-mail address is recognised as a previous contributor.

Unfortunately web technology and sharp design moves on much faster than I can keep up with, and no doubt it won’t be long before this site looks as dated as the previous incarnation. I won’t promise to keep up and keep things fresh, but by using a mainstream platform (WordPress) with many developers working hard to create sites that reflect modern tastes, I will at least stand a better chance.

Please have a look around and hopefully you find something that interests you. If you want to get in contact more directly please feel free to use the contact form provided.
